Depression is a disorder of the body, the mind, and the soul.
Although Depression is the number one disorder in the world, affecting more
than 20 million Americans, it is the most overlooked and misunderstood disorder.
Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain that affects our emotions,
perspectives, and spirit, and it ultimately disrupts our lives and relationships.
We don’t know exactly what causes Depression. There could be biological,
environmental, psychological, social, and cultural factors, among others.
It is absolutely normal to feel depressed from time to time throughout our lives.
We all experience unexpected sadness, loss, and disappointments. But if Depression
is interfering with your life and it affects your daily functioning such as having
trouble getting out of bed, going to work, having relationships, etc., you need to
face the issue, treat it, learn from it, and move on as a stronger individual.
Depression is a disorder of isolation, loneliness, hopelessness, and waste.
One of the worst things about Depression is that it isolates us, making us feel
absolutely alone and hopeless. But you are not alone.
Depression is treatable and manageable. With understanding and compassion,
THERE IS HOPE!
